Phoenix Hairpins: Saigon - Reunion LP + Gothic Bop 12"

Phoenix Hairpins: Saigon - Reunion LP + Gothic Bop 12"

The Saigon who recorded Where are the Roses, Green Carnation and Diving through Sand were a Glasgow based Band 1980-1982. We played extensively throughout UK and in Fresnes Prison, Paris, in honour of writer Jean Genet.

SAIGON 1981

Saigon were a Scottish Band 1980-1982. We released 3 45's. "Where are the Roses", "Diving through Sand" & "Green Carnation".
My big influence lyrically was the French Gay wrirter Jean Genet, who wrote my favourite book "Our Lady of the Flowers" while inside Fresnes prison. In November 1981, as a homage to the great man, we performed 2 concerts in the prison for the inmates.
I am currently rehearsing new members with a view to rerecording some material and doing some concerts.
